New Classic

OOTD Casual

Happy hump day everyone! It has been beautiful weather here in nor cal. I love being able to wear the same outfit all day and not have to switch because the weather can't make up its mind (much like me when I am trying to choose an outfit in the first place!) Today the weather is 73 degrees but humid, so it felt like 75. I love when it is warm, but still a nice ocean breeze.

Bad-ass Boots

As you all know, recently I did a post on fringe and how trendy it is. I love shoes and I am not a big fan on spending $100 or more on shoes, but these boots are totally bad ass. The fact that they are also comfortable makes them all the more worth it.

Paint it Black

OOTD

The June gloom we have every other day in California can make it hard for me to pick an outfit out with it being warm one day and freezing the next. Typically I like to wear a little more color when it's spring/summer, but with the gloom I decided to do all black and break it up with some brown. I also played with some texture in this look. My top has small textured dots, and my jeans are leather coated. I must say that I am definitely hooked on Paige denim. There are a variety of styles, lengths and colors. I guarantee you will find a pair you will wear over and over again.

Trendy Tuesday: Funky Fringe

Reformation 'Naya' Skirt

With the 70s trend coming back full steam, fringe is a must have piece in your wardrobe. I've been searching high and low for the perfect fringe and suede jacket, but I have still not found one. So, instead I will lust over these pieces I have spotted on various websites.

Alpine Adventure

Lovestitch
I have never really been into ponchos. Mainly because I had never tried one on that I liked and thought looked flattering. If you are having the same problem, look no further. This Love Stitch Anya poncho is amaaaaazing. It also comes in two different colors, this spring-y one I am wearing and a fall looking one with reds. It is really easy to throw on with a plain shirt and it keeps you warm.

Blissful days

I have always said that if I didn't like dressing up so much, I would probably be a recluse and wear sweatpants all day. Luckily they made cute but comfy harem pants, palazzo pants, and jeggings. Just recently I got these super cute harem style pants from Bliss Boutique. Luckily, they are going to be putting up an online site very soon at bebeautifulinbliss.com. You will now be able to buy some of the cute things that I wear too!

Keep it Simple

As I have gotten older, I find myself dressing more minimalistic and classic. I am all about buying classic pieces and pairing them with bolder pieces or simple too. With this outfit I paired a simple white collared shirt and dark denim. Throwing this beautiful Lovestitch cardigan over it added a slightly different look to this classic outfit.

Trendy Tuesday: Designer Jeans you can DIY

Anthropologie Jeans
Anthropologie Jeans

Christopher Kane Jeans

Dolce and Gabbana Jeans

Paige Denim

Preserve Jeans

I am majorly loving jeans with embellishments, embroidery, and even paint! If I had the money I would totally just buy one of these beautiful pairs of jeans. Luckily, if you are a bargain lover like me, you can buy a pair of inexpensive jeans at H&M, forever 21, or even thrift stores. Find a pair that fits really well! You can do any of these looks on skinny, boyfriend, flared, whatever floats your boat. This next weekend I'm going to go out and buy a couple pairs so I can paint cherry blossoms like the Preserve jeans pictured above. Blake Lively wore the cherry blossom jeans and it was the perfectly put-together outfit for spring!
I also want to try embellishing jeans with jewels, and hope that I can get them to look just as good as the designer jeans. I think bejeweling your jeans give them a fancier look and you can just throw them on.
Finally, if you don't want to go out and buy a new pair because you are on a budget, look through your denim drawer and see if their are any pairs that may be a little too beat up, you can patch them up! You can purchase scraps of cloth at JO ANN craft store, rummage sales, and thrift stores and patch up those holes in your jeans and make them trendy all over again.

Hopefully this will give you some inspiration to do a DIY in the near future.

Frolicking in Fringe

The first weekend of Coachella may be wrapping up, now onto weekend 2. There are also so many more festivals coming up. I got this kimono a couple years ago and I just love the embroidering along the front. For this festival look I did white on white, which has become something I love pairing together. This is one of my favorite dresses because it is light and feminine. I wore this dress last year to the One Direction concert at the Rose bowl when it was 100+ degrees.

Bad to the Bone

Stylebypeyton

So right before I went on spring break I picked up this amazing biker jacket vest at Target! It was $30 and it is perfect for every season! Especially when it is warmer and you still want to wear your leather jacket, but you need to be cool enough. The solution is this vest! It is made from a nice jersey material and it is a charcoal grey color. I've worn it with just a plain long sleeve under it and it looks great, but for this outfit I paired it with a mock neck sweater tank.

Sound of Music

Stylebypeyton

The hills are definitely alive with the sound of music. Since it is music festival season, picking out the right outfit is a must. This sweater is perfect for a concert because it is easy to throw on over just about anything and looks put together. It's also airy and a perfect cover up for the pool too.

Recently I have been searching for the perfect statement necklace that had some color in it. And when it's spring and summer I love to incorporate boho pieces in my wardrobe. I got this perfect necklace that has multi-colored strings on it. Since I hardly ever wear color, this necklace is the nice pop of color that I need. You can get this amazing necklace at Bliss Boutique. Check out their instagram @Bliss_Boutique to see more amazing pieces.

I kept this look pretty simple with a LBD and black booties to bring it all together. And of course I am wearing my cat eye sunnies that I always wear because they are perfect.

Hopefully this has given you some inspo for festivals, events, lunch, or even shopping!

Desert Flower

Stylebypeyton

We all know we are going to see all the Coachella posts on insta. Sadly I have never been to Coachella, or any music festival for that matter. I always like to imagine what outfits I would wear for events like this. Since it's usually going to be hot, wearing something light and breezy will make you feel more comfortable.

Coachella look 3

Coachella look 3

Another must for musical festivals are fun sunnies. Heart shaped are cute and girly, floral cat eyes are a little edgy, and palm tree sunnies just scream festival. The last must is a camera, or two maybe. When you go on cool adventures always make sure to take tons of pictures, especially if you have a cute outfit on.

For this look I have paired a red floral dress and some pebbled Acne boots. Instead of a flower crown, I think wearing a blingy headband can add some fanciness to an outfit. Also wearing a fanny pack can be easier to help ensure you have all your essentials right where they need to be.

With Coachella coming up, these are some outfit inspirations. I would wear outfits like these: boho, breezy, and classic. Festivals are a time to play around with your wardrobe. Wardrobe essentials for me would include breezy cotton, and lightweight fabrics. One year I will be able to go to a cool musical festival.

Boot Camp

stylebypeyton.blogspot.com

For some reason this skirt reminds me of a military uniform (but more stylish). It has a very military vibe to it. Nevertheless, I had a difficult time pairing this skirt with something at first, but I thought a jean top would look nice with it and adds a small pop of color.
