Day Dreaming
Weather wise, Spring has to be my favorite season. I love the shining sun, and crisp air. I don't wear dresses that often, but this dress I got from Stitch Fix is so beautiful! Before getting this dress, I had nothing like it in my closet. It is a beautiful navy blue and white brocade knee-length dress. The material is thicker, but still moves beautifully. The fit and flare style and square neck is so flattering. The colors and pattern of this dress is classic, and it is a piece that I am so glad to have.
If you have not heard of Stitch Fix, it is where you enter information about yourself and a stylist sends you a box of clothing and/or accessories. You can enter a price range as well as what style of clothing you like. This was my third time using this service, and I loved it the first time. They sent the best stuff and I wear the items all the time. This dress was a little pricier, but I bought it anyways because it was so gorgeous.

All Dressed up and Somewhere to go
Tuxedo's are classic, and always will be. Instead of being just for men, the ever lasting classic piece has been transformed into women's wear and not just menswear. Tuxedo's can range from a full pant-suit, to a blazer and skirt, and now the trendy tuxedo dress! Although mine isn't quite a dress it is close enough for now.

Live to Give
Finding a vintage piece of clothing is always so exciting for me. With my grandparents being antique collectors I am fortunate enough to find some great pieces. Recently my grandmother picked up this vintage U.S. Army jacket, the patches have sadly been removed. So in place I added some vintage pins that has a picture of my great-grandfather who was in the army, and the other to represent my great-grandfather on my Dad's side.

Bouclé and Satin
I am loving this California winter! The sun is shining, and there is a nice crisp breeze that smells of the ocean. This is when I really appreciate where I live.

Marble
It is almost time for spring, and that means trying out some new trends. This trend is not that new, last year the marble trend was shown at different runways shows. I didn't see a lot of marble last year, it seems like more people (i.e. fashion bloggers) are trying it out and obsessing over it now. It is a very minimalistic trend, that is sleek and modern. Recently I just bought a pair of marble studs. They are neutral enough to wear with anything. Pictured below are some pretty marble pieces that I found, even some DIY's for clothes, and nails.
Let me know what you think about the marble trend!

California Winter
It seems as though everywhere I go to take pictures for my blog, someone stops me to ask what I am doing. I guess living in a small town, it's not something people see everyday. I always meet the weirdest people while shooting. Today I met a very strange, albeit nice, man. He hugged my mom and I and complimented us many times. It gave us a good laugh, to think about how many people have stopped us to say something and chat. That is one thing I will never get used to when I blog, or shoot videos for YouTube.

Trendy Tuesday: Earrings on the Red Carpet
Today I want to talk about a trend I have noticed on the red carpets; Geometric earrings, double-sided earrings, and crawlers.
Starting with the geometric earrings, I think these are great minimalistic pieces to have in your collection. The geometric shape gives an edgier look to an outfit.
Double-sided earrings on the other hand, with the right hair-do, can
make a look very sophisticated. A slicked back bun with double sided
earrings (as seen on Rosie), gives a very polished look.
Last, but not least, are crawler earrings. This is a single post that extends up and around the ear. It is very similar to an ear cuff, and comes in different styles. These are a good statement piece for a night out. I think this is one of the most popular trends on the red carpet out of the three trends.
Which one would you try out?

Mod about it
More and more I find myself adapting the style of different eras. Today's outfit of the day is very mod channeling the sixties! When I did a school project we had the sixties and I had to dress the part. I researched many style icons of the era. Including, but not limited to; Jane Birkin, Jackie O., Audrey Hepburn, and Françoise Hardy. Of course there were many other women who rocked the mod/free-spirit look, these women are just some of my favorites. After this project I found myself picking out pieces that had that mod look to them. The sixties were a time of women showing that they could wear whatever they wanted. They broke a lot of rules that were set, and did not care. There is the classic sixties look that Audrey, Jackie, and Françoise embody. Then there is the more free spirit/ rocker style that Jane and many others embodied. To sum up, the sixties changed how women dressed in the generations to come.

Wish Bear
We all have an item from our childhood that we just can't seem to part with. Maybe it is a blanket, stuffed animal, t-shirts that don't fit and so on. For the longest time I tried to keep many of the memories from my childhood. The point being we all want to keep a part of our innocence, a time where there were no worries. That is why I really do love this jacket from Reformation and was drawn to it. Maybe it is
because I don't want to grow up, and it lets me be a kid when I wear it.

Cable knit+ Fur Sweater
Today's outfit of the day is kind of street style inspired outfit. This mixed cable-knit and (faux) fur sweater is easy to throw on to create that street style look. Turtlenecks are also really great layering pieces in the winter, and colder spring days.

Girly Gingham
Today I went out and got lunch with my friend. It was a surprisingly warm day in California for Winter! So I layered my outfit with a plain white tee, and a gingham vest. I really love vests like these because they are so easy to throw on with plain shirts to add a little something to an outfit.

Vest: Peach Love

Borrowed From the Boys
Today I went out shopping for a birthday present for my friend, and to return some things. I always layer up when shopping because if it is cold, I will be warm, but if I get too warm I can take off my jacket! It is a win-win situation. This look is kind of "borrowed from the boys" with the herringbone coat, and classic striped button down. This is one of my go-to classic outfits to throw on!
Jacket: Forever 21 (and it's on sale in stores too!)
Shirt: Marshall's
Jeans: Paige Denim
Shoes: Franco Sarto
Necklace: Gift
Bag: Brandy Melville
Hope you liked my outfit of the day!

Simplicity, simplicity, simplicity: My favorite Golden Globe outfits
Tonight, as you may know, was the 72nd annual Golden Globes! I have always loved the red carpet events because of the amazing outfits. So let’s just jump to who I thought were the best dressed…
For me, the top outfit of the evening goes to Emma Stone,
wearing a Lanvin Jumpsuit with a luxurious bow train. I love how chic, classic,
and simple her outfit is. Just
everything about her is perfect.
Next is Julianna
Margulies in a beautiful brocade Ulyana Sergeenko Midi dress. I love how
elegant she looks with simple black pumps, and a simple diamond necklace. Obviously Jennifer Lopez looked sexy in her beaded Zohair Murad gown. I love this dress because of the different flair on it with the cape like arms and back. The deep plunge and the slit in the front adds some sexiness. This dress really shows off her beautiful curves.

Sienna Miller also donned a deep plunging dress by Miu Miu. I love the simple elegance of this dress, with the gorgeous detailing on it. The peachy pink satin gives that luxurious look, while the deep plunge makes it sexy.
Allison Williams was another who rocked the red gown on the
red carpet. Allison is wearing a strapless, textured gown from Armani Prive. I
adore the texture of her dress, as well as the little sparkly detail it has.
Very chic and glamorous, especially with her slicked and curled hair. Last, but not least, is Chrissy Teigen wearing a gorgeous long sleeved Zuhair Murad from-fitting dress. The cut of the dress looks gorgeous and shows off her amazing body. The peak-a-boo detail adds some intricacy, and her messy pony gives an effortless look.

Overall, the trend I noticed was simplicity. As Thoreau once
said, “Simplicity, simplicity, simplicity.” That is what I love about all of my
favorites… Their looks are all elegant and classic, with a simplicity that
looks effortless. Alas, there were so many
gorgeous women there that I could not possibly fit into this post! Let me know
who your favorites were in the comments.

Fur + Plaid Winter Outfit
During winter the fur (faux of course) comes out from the back of the closet, and the plaid shirts are worn almost every day. I love this classic winter look because it is easy and comfy, while still being put together. This plaid top is great because it is a chiffon material with ruffles at the bottom, which adds a little something different. When wearing pieces that are more casual, I like to put on a glitzy necklace to bring the look all together. Winter also gives me an excuse to wear red lipstick all the time! Hopefully you enjoyed this little post.

Staple Saturday Article from Thatsoceleb.com
Cold bitter winds, or cool summer nights chunky sweaters can keep you warm in any season! Cream or white chunky pullover sweaters are a staple because they are easy to throw on with a necklace or a scarf, plus white goes with pretty much everything. For the summer you can throw it on with a pair of shorts and flip flops. Chunky sweaters are easy to use for layering, for example you can put a plaid shirt under one and have the collar peek out. Open chunky sweaters and cardigans are good too because they can be thrown over a shirt or long sleeve and will keep you warm on those chilly days. Pictured above are ways to wear chunky sweaters. They can be found really anywhere. Cheaper stores are Forever 21, Target, and Old Navy. Medium priced stores are Urban Outfitters, Pacsun, and Gap. Higher range stores are Topshop, Acne, and Brandy Melville (Although some are cheaper than others). Hopefully you enjoyed this weeks Staple Saturday!

Casual Senior Portrait outfit
Pose by xoxopeyton
I recently took my senior portraits. I put a lot of thought into what I would wear for the setting that I was taking the pictures. My photographer is a natural light photographer and the fall California sunset is the perfect backdrop. We took the pictures on the hiking trails that I love to hike on with my mom.
One of my outfits was a casual sweater tank and brocade shorts. I was a bit apprehensive to wear a neutral color on top, but I really liked the pop of color in the shorts. I decided to wear a necklace with a contrasting pop of color. It all ended up coming together nicely.
There is an app that I like to use called "Pose" . I post my OOTD on this sometimes. I loved the pictures that were taken, and my photographer went above and beyond, since she loved all the pieces I put together, she decided to take pictures like a fashion shoot. I loved that I could use these as my OOTD. I decided to put this outfit and one other using this app. I was surprised to get a notification that this outfit was chosen to be featured!
Now I wish that I always had a professional photographer (or a good hobby photographer) to take my outfit pictures. So much better than the pictures I take in the mirror.
So, if you are into style and outfits, I say give this app a try. I love that you can even access on a computer, and I love to see what others are wearing and tweak the look to my own style.
Pose or go to Itunes and download the app.
xoxo Peyton
