Hunger Game nails!

Inspired by my favorite books series, The Hunger Games, I tried a new nail design. Just in time for the premier this weekend!!!

The flames are painted first on thin plastic bags, using any red, orange and yellow that you have on hand. Set aside to dry. Once they are dry, just cut out the flames and they will be the "stickers" you use on your nails.

While the flames are drying, prep and paint your nails with black. Apply the stickers to the nail. Because it is from a thinner plastic storage bag, it sticks to the nail. Flatten out any bubbles (if a bubble just won't go away, stick the bubble with a fine pin and flatten with your finger). Finish it off by topping with at least two coats of a good top coat. It is okay if they aren't perfectly flat. This look should have some roughness for depth and perspective.

Let the games begin!

Bright Spring Floral Nails

This nail art is springy and a little bit 1960's Mod. The flowers kind of look 60's and are so easy to do. I used the following product.

For the base - Essie Oui Madame - This is a great white pearl color.

Flowers - Petals - China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy - This is a bright pink.
Flowers - Center - Sally Hansen Hard Lemonade - Nice yellow for that little detail.

I used the large dotting tool for the petals, and a size smaller for the center for the larger flowers. For the smaller flowers I used the same smaller one I used on the center for the petals, and a step down for the center.

This is a fun style and can be done in ANY color combination.

Turquoise OOTD

Here is the spring outfit of the day that goes with the nails I did last night. Simple and so comfortable. Perfect for a spring day.

Kardashian Nicole OPI Colors

I finally bought three more colors in the Kardashian line by Nicole - OPI.

I love the multi-color glitter called Rainbow in the S-Kylie. It compliments every color I have!

Blue glitter is Kendall on the Katwalk. Love it by itself or over other colors.

Dark plum purple with a slight metallic sheen is Smile for the Glam-era. It is a great dark color.

Tiffany Blue French manicure

I am really liking the China Glaze Audrey color nail polish. I saw this on Zooey Deschanel's Instagram pictures and just loved it. It is a perfect manicure for the outfit that I picked out for today (picture to follow later)

I used OPI Coney Island Cotton Candy for the base and China Glaze For Audrey for the tips. I love changing up the tips for a "French" manicure, and since it has been warm and sunny and so spring like, I think this is perfect for my mood.

OOTD - A rainy day outfit

Well, the weather took a massive change this week. It was warm and in the 70's for the past week, then this storm comes through California and I had to put all my new outfits on hold and pull out the layered look and boots.

China Glaze Audrey with Cheetah print nails

So, I got a big haul of nail polishes the other day. I couldn't wait to try the China Glaze Audrey polish. It is a Tiffany blue color that I think is so spring. I also tried a cheetah print that I have been practicing everywhere. (school folders, friends binders, even lip balm containers)

Here is the final product.
